This week, something exciting happened - BlindBox.co.nz officially launched! After months of prep, testing, sourcing (and obsessively opening blind boxes behind the scenes), our new site is finally live for all of Aotearoa and Australia.
Why did I start BlindBox? Easy: Because I’m completely obsessed with blind unboxing.
There’s something magical about that moment before the reveal, the mix of anticipation, hope, and let’s be honest... mild panic that you might get a double (but still love it anyway). I’ve always loved collectibles, designer figures, and kawaii toys, and I wanted to make it easier for others in NZ and AU to get their hands on the coolest stuff, without waiting weeks for overseas shipping or dealing with dodgy fakes.
So I built BlindBox for collectors like me, and for the curious first-timers who want to dip their toes into the mystery.
The Unboxing That Started It All
To kick things off, I filmed our very first unboxing, and wow, Nommi was so bloody cute.
I was nervous (I’m not a content creator by trade!) but honestly, it was pure joy. The box was adorable, the figure inside was perfection, and that tiny reveal moment? 10/10 dopamine hit.
